Dr. Igor Galynker, the Director of the Family Center, is a leading expert in Suicidology. He is the Director of the Mount Sinai Suicide Research and Prevention Labaratory and has published extensively on the topic of suicide risk assessment. Most recently, he has identified and defined the Suicide Crisis Syndrome, a distinct psychiatric condition that uniquely and effectively predicts suicidal behavior. All Center patients are screened for Suicide Crisis Syndrome at intake. Dr. Galynker is also available for Suicide Risk Assessment consultations for new and existing patients on an as-needed clinical basis.
